Lola Jiblazee’s art demands feminist empowerment by honoring the women who raised and inspired her. Jilblazee’s iconic Hermerica flag re-interprets the American flag with bold outlines of the female form and has been hailed as a powerful symbol of resistance to oppression. Other works in acrylic, oil, aerosol paint, and mixed media interrogate the feminine experience. Her work has been curated by the New York State Museum. Originally from Tbilisi, Georgia, Jiblazee lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
